Element: Perform diagnostic tests
  • Identify relevant diagnostic tests according to workplace procedures
  • Select and check tools and equipment for relevant diagnostic tests are ready to use
  • Confirm test procedures with appropriate personnel as required, and obtain any necessary permissions to conduct tests
  • Carry out diagnostic tests according to workplace procedures
  • Identify possible causes of the fault from diagnostic test results

  • Record information about the fault and test results according to workplace procedures
  • Identify proposed solutions to rectify faults based on information found
  • Communicate findings to the workplace supervisor and customer and confirm the next steps

Assessment Tasks
